Privacy Policy

We only collect the information we need to make and deliver your order, and we don't sell it to anyone.

Who we are

Auckland Indian Sweets & Snacks ("we", "us") is an Auckland, New Zealand business making traditional Indian sweets and snacks since 1991. You can reach us through our Contact Us page or at sam@sens.co.nz.

What we collect

• When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, the order contents and any notes you add; for delivery orders, your delivery address and requested date; for click & collect orders, the store and pickup time you choose.
• If you create an account: your name, email, phone number and password (we only store your password in scrambled form, never as readable text), plus your loyalty points, wishlist and order history.
• If you pay by bank transfer: the receipt image or PDF you choose to upload.
• If you contact us (contact or catering forms): the details and message you send.

We never see or store your card number. Card payments are handled by Stripe, and PayPal payments by PayPal.

How we use it

• To prepare, deliver or hand over your order, and to email you confirmations and updates about it.
• To run your account and loyalty points.
• To reply to your enquiries.
• To keep the accounting and tax records the law requires, and to prevent fraud.

Who we share it with

Only the people who need it to serve you, and only what they need:

• Payment providers (Stripe, PayPal) to take your payment.
• Couriers — your name, phone number and delivery address — for delivery orders.
• Our email and website hosting providers, who send our emails and store our data on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to remember your cart and keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Stripe and PayPal may set their own cookies on their payment pages.

How long we keep it, and keeping it safe

We keep order records for as long as we need them to provide our service and to meet our tax and accounting obligations under New Zealand law. Our site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to customer information is limited to our staff.

Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details above and we'll respond promptly. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we'll update this page and the date above.
